Collaborative
No one person fixes the world’s problems, and the same is true in marketing. By bringing together people with different experiences, we step away from our own biases and create more meaningful, creative solutions.
Malleable
A thorough strategy is good, but a better one is to leave room for flexibility. Trends, consumption habits, demographics, and goals can change on a dime. When a strategy is built with only one objective in mind, it leaves no room to adapt.
I believe in planning for the big picture, but leave day-to-day somewhat undefined. Capitalizing on the moment and never remaining stagnant. If you choose to remain the same and never evolve your strategy, you will be left behind.
Visual Identity
Photography
Visual identity starts with photography. How you shoot, what you shoot, and especially how you edit. Not only has my photographic ability greatly improved over the years, but refining the editing style of the resort to clearly have a presence.
Videography
Prior to my arrival, Sunday River’s video presence was sorely lacking. It hinged upon a few TikTok’s here and there, but that was largely it. I changed that. Now we offer long-form stories as well as short reels that offer a variety of media types.
Branding
A somewhat loaded question, but what is branding? Well, it’s a somewhat loaded answer, but everything the sun touches. It’s the paint on the signs, it’s the font style we use, it’s how we speak about ourselves and our guests, it’s the type of guest we seek to attract…basically everything.
Strategy
Organic Social Media
Who said memes can’t be part of your strategy? Personality is one of the most important pieces to standing out in an oversaturated social media sphere. If memes fit your brand identity, then utilize that tool. Be deliberate, but be willing to take swings.
Paid Media
Probably one of the least sexy parts of marketing, but also one of the most effective. Deliberate use of paid media means not only retaining your current customer base but extending that net to new patrons as well.
